Dont go nuts! eat nuts, a superfood snack
Making nuts one of your new snack foods could do you more favors than you would expect. For one, certain nuts are particularly good for those suffering from depression. Food for thought!
There is also something nice about a bowl of mixed nuts, and a set of nut crackers in front of the TV. Breaking into them is quite therapeutic all in itself. But what else is going on with the humble nut?
Nuts generally are a good aid to avoiding heart disease. A number of nuts reduce bad cholesterol (LDLs). This is particularly true of almonds.
Almonds are also good, apparently for beating stress.
Nuts are particularly good when included in diets of people who have diabetes type 2.
Brazil nuts, hazel nuts, cashews and peanuts are particularly good for people suffering from depression.
As for antioxidants – walnuts, hazelnuts and pecans score the highest points
A great source of protein.
Now, they are a little high in calories, but so is that 1 liter tub of ice cream which can be so tempting on a TV night.
So through away the chips, the ice cream and all the other garbage and put a bowls of fruits and nuts in front of your television for a change. It’s sort of where self-help meets self-indulgence, so go for it.
