Don't play into Valentines Day?

Don't play into Valentines Day?

Just curious, but are there men out there, specifically attached men, who don't play into Valentines Day? Are there guys out there who've decided it is dumb and therefore just don't do anything on V-day? ... and our your girlfriends and wives okay with this? I'm curious b/c every guy in my office is talking about all the sweet little things they're doing or have done for their wives and girlfriends and my man has yet to say anything... now I'll give him some credit. It's only 10am. Maybe he's an "evening lover" on this day. That's cool. And also I'm not expecting a huge show here. Flowers would be wonderful. Chocolate isn't really important... but at the very least a "Happy Valentines Day" and a homemade card would sufice... but maybe being surrounded by all these "thoughtful" men is making me believe that every man is like this. Maybe they aren't. Maybe there are a ton of men that don't play into the bullcrap. I think it's silly too, trust me, and I know it's all Hallmarketing, but that doesn't mean I don't wanna a little something here to recognize the day. I already gave him his card. The gift is sitting in my desk.

Your thoughts?

We don't do Valentine's Day

Well my husband and I do not celebrate this day we consider it Pagan and from pagan origins so we just don't buy into it anyway. Then there is the commercialism aspect that everyone thinks you HAVE to do something. What ever happened to creativity and spontaity. To much material stuff and greed plays a big part anymore in all the holidays. Which is really pretty sad. I like a homemade card, a bouquet of wild flowers, and some homemade cookies or something than all the glitz, glitter and other stuff now days promoted. It is like the ad's try and imply your don't love someone unless you buy, buy, buy. And that is just not true.
