Don't Quit, It's Not Over Yet
So much has been said about the situation in the Middle East being the precursor for Armageddon, so I won't go into more detail there. However, as I've said elsewhere, things are the way they are because of decisions each of us have made, so it would stand to reason that we can change what is happening, too.
There are some who would disagree with me and those people are most commonly known as Evangelicals or as their slightly less zealous brethren, Christians. These people believe that what is happening in the M.E. is a Crusade against the godless Muslims and that we are helping speed Armageddon along so that the Second Coming arrives sooner rather than later. Further, they roll over for anything Israel does against the Palestinians, giving them carte blanche to commit crimes against humanity.
The trouble for their position is quite simply the Bible doesn't say when exactly the Second Coming will happen. It doesn't anywhere. Sure, there are people who claim to have educated guesses, but so have lots of people throughout history and time has proven them wrong.
Since the End/S.C. may not happen for another hundred years, what excuse can those people have for not doing their darnedest to make a difference today? Do they really want to stand before their Creator and attempt to rationalize their sitting on their hands and doing nothing while bearing witness to man's inhumanity to man?
I am putting energy into having people make the realization that quitting isn't cool. Just because the Middle East is a political morass and we've been meddling unsuccessfully in their affairs for decades to no great benefit to us, doesn't mean that we can't turn this thing around.
Visualize the end of fighting.
Visualize our troops coming home.
Visualize good leaders coming into power in every country.
Visualize the common people realizing that war is not the answer and creating a culture of good in every country.
Visualize the newspaper headlines showing that peace has arrived at last.
Visualize people of different backgrounds and ethnicities working together and resolving their differences through open and honest communication with there being room for every opinion.
I for one am putting my energy toward Peace and showing others how they can help achieve it. I encourage the rest of you to do the same.
