Doormat of the NFL

Doormat of the NFL

My team is officially the NFL’s doormat. Hey, stop stepping on us were down, but were still people too. Yes, I am a part of Raider Nation and felt the need to express myself after Randy Moss made those comments yesterday. "My concentration and focus level tends to go down sometimes when I'm in a bad mood," Moss said. "So all I can say is if you put me in a good situation and make me happy, man, you get good results.” So I guess he doesn’t want to be traded after all. Players can’t say things like that and actually think that a team will want to trade for them. Allen Iverson has dogged it in practice, but then again he wasn’t truly hurting the team because he played hard in the games. So what would make you happy Randy? How about $10 million more? Would that help out your mood?

If you’re the highest paid guy on the team, shouldn’t you at least play hard in games and overcome focusing during a “bad mood”! At this point I’d rather have TO on my team, because at least you know he’s going to play hard in the game. The Raiders do throw him the ball, as he’s a top 10 targeted receivers in the NFL, but that doesn’t make him happy or even try. Plus Moss is killing fantasy teams by letting his emotions get the better of him, and he’s not even physically hurt! He did the same thing in Minnesota on a winning team, taking plays off during a game, and wisely they got rid of him. Right now I’d trade him away for a 7th round draft pick!

On a side note it’s funny how my friends don’t talk smack to me anymore. Most of them now feel sorry for me and my lowly team. No more text message trash talking after a loss, because it’s expected of the Raiders nowadays. I still have hope as I keep betting on them. They’ve covered the spread three out of the last four weeks at least. My good friends that are Chargers fans don’t even make fun of the Raiders, because the mere mention of their team is considered a joke. Is it just me or is NFL not quite the same as when everybody hated them or loved them?!? I mean I have conversations that have started with sorry about your Raiders, man. Sorry? The year they flopped after the Super Bowl you were taunting me after every game. The Raiders need to be restored to the team that is loved and hated (not much middle ground) throughout the US!

Can't blame you

I saw Kerry Collins suck it up in Tenessee and it made me smile a little, but then I remembered how we just got aaron brooks, and he sucks just as bad:( To tell you the truth I don't know who to root for these days... I guess just whoever I put money on!

an apology to the hawks

or maybe not... as a long-time saints fan... & it's nice to be able to admit that publicly again..., i've smiled a secret smile about aaron brooks' struggles in oakland. only because my saints replaced him with my charger, you see... threw for 500+ yards & lost! anyways... i don't really hate the hawks. i just got onto a thing about my general dislike of pro sports franchises from philly & atlanta. it probably goes back to me gloating for a coupla years about my blue jays' brief moment of glory. i probably couldn't name three players who've ever DRESSED for the atlanta hawks (except abdur-rahim... & that's only 'cause i wish he was still playing here...).

or maybe not...

Doomed from the start

I have to say that they were doomed when they hired art shell then signed aaron brooks. I told my buddy that the Niners were going to be better than them two or three years from now, which is scary to me... It's going to be awhile until things go back to the way things were (the utter hate/love for the Raiders)... I mean our franchise is rivaling the Knicks for top honors on an ugly list... By the way, why do you hate the Hawks? I can't remember the last time they were worth hating... I was still a teenager for sure!

ain't it the truth! see, i

ain't it the truth! see, i thought randy moss was over-skilled & under-productive back in minnesota, so his inability to turn the raiders around is no more surprising to me than art shell's ineffectiveness. but as a chargers man, i was looking forward to a season-long digging b/w me 'n' my raiders-fan boss. but by week three it just wasn't fun anymore. for raider nation's sake, it'd be nice of the raiders organization to put themselves together a team worthy of the black 'n' silver. then i could get back to hating them as much as i hate the eagles or the falcons. or the phillies 'n' the braves. or the flyers 'n' the thrashers. or the 76ers 'n' the hawks.

or maybe not...
