Dr. Allan Friedman, Top Neurosurgeon, Operates On Ted Kennedy Today

Senator Edward ( Ted ) Kennedy is scheduled to undergo surgery today for a malignant brain tumor. One of the nations top neurosurgeons, Dr. Allan Friedman, will be performing the surgery on the 76 year old Senator.
Dr. Allan Friedman will perform the surgery today at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C. The surgery for malignant glioma is primarily for biopsy and diagnosis, because of the type of cancer that it is, it is almost impossible to remove.
Ted Kennedy has malignant glioma, an especially lethal type of brain tumor. Following the surgery by Dr. Allan Friedman, the Senator will receive chemotherapy and radiation.
