Drive more readers to your Xombytes
Hey Xomba citizens,
We hope you are having fun meeting new people and writing on Xomba. We’ll be sending our 1st newsletter in the next few days. In the meantime try bringing some traffic to your Xombytes using the following tips.
- Polish that Xombyte and get it posted on popular message boards that relate to your topic. All you have to do is post a message that tells people to check out your article/blog/fiction you wrote and make sure you write a small summary of what the Xombyte is about. Then post the link to your Xombyte.
“Example: (Pretend we’re posting the following on a Movie Message Board under the topic New Movies)
Post reads: Hi everyone, I just wrote an article about why I think Miami Vice is the worst movie ever. You can read it here (insert Xombyte link). Feel free to leave me comments.
Thanks,
Nick

This should cause quite a commotion. Notice I’m telling the readers what the Xombyte is about and not just stating that it refers to Miami Vice. Think in terms of writing a lead sentence. You need to set that hook and reel people in. I’m also including my referral code in my signature. This is an easy way to get referrals. You can find your referral code on your profile screen. Just click “View My Profile” on the left menu and scroll down a bit.
Just remember to never SPAM. No one likes a spammer. Keep your message board posts relevant to the topic.
Posting your Xombytes to relevant message boards is a quick way to get up to several hundred reads and maybe grab a few dedicated readers. Not to mention you might get a few clicks on your ads as well.
2. Go to stumbleupon.com and consider downloading their toolbar. I’m not a big fan of toolbars, but after a Xomba user suggested it, we tried it out. The results have been pretty incredible. Some of our Xombytes are getting up to 600 reads from using this. That’s amazing. Stumbleupon is a networking community that allows you to submit web pages and lets users rate them. Users select categories of web pages they want to view, such as “writing” and click on a button that randomly takes you to a web page in that category. The best thing about the toolbar is that it does not install spyware or adware onto your computer. Take a look at their site and check it out. We are not affiliated with Stumbleupon.com in any way, nor can we give technical support for their product. A Xomba user brought this idea to us so we tried it out and found it quite beneficial.
- Ever wonder what those little icons are below your Xombyte? Well today we’re going to talk about one of them specifically Digg.com. Digg allows people to submit stories so other people can read and then vote on them. First, you need to create an account with Digg and then submit your Xombyte. Once you submit your article/blog it will stay in a queue for 24 hours, while there other Digg users will have the opportunity to review and vote on it. If enough votes are given to the post that has been submitted then it will appear on Digg’s front page. Please note that it is better to submit news related items rather than just a blog entry.
Feel free to leave a comment or contact us using the contact page.
Take care,
Staff @ Xomba

It appears those of you using Stumble Upon are seeing a considerable increase in reads.
The more people on Stumble Upon who give your Xombyte a thumbs up the more your Xombyte is recommended.

Digg
I went to digg and it's not taking any new subscribers. They say they need to work on some issues first.
Odd
Wait a day or so and try again.
