Drunkorexia - Eating Disorders and Alcohol abuse combined to create a dangerous situation

Drunkorexia can be described as a condition where eating disorders and alcohol abuse are combined. Women restrict their calorie intake and literally starve so that they can drink more and not gain weight from their bingeing.< p>

This pattern of eating disorders such as bingeing and purging can also be due to a deep psychological cause such as childhood trauma, mental anguish say psychologists.

Drunkorexia can be a health danger for young women, who in their preoccupation with weight, and the need to become slim, resort to self-imposed starvation and when this is combined with alcohol abuse, the result is quite risky.

There are many support groups ( link below ) who offer understanding, support and leads the road to a recovery process. The solution to any problem is to address it the right way and not to travel down a path, which would make it worse.
