Drunkorexia is the act of substituting the calories in alcohol for the calories of food. It is an old eating disorder with a new name, affecting mostly females between the ages of 18-34 who want to stay thin and still be able to drink.
Drunkorexics will skip meals during the day so they can go out and drink at night and not have to worry about gaining weight.
College students, actresses and models have been on this liquid diet for years, it's the 'in' thing now to be a drunkorexic. Hollywood calls it 'the long term diet'.
Drunkorexia has become the newest eating disorder among the younger females, having the lime light cast upon it in recent months by young actresses and singers who were once gorgeous show up on the red carpet stick thin and haggard, looking far older than their actual age.
Thin at any cost, and a calorie is a calorie, in the mind of a drunkorexic. The cost is high, long term drunkorexics suffer irreversible liver damage. The drunkorexic's outward appearance that they initially were so concerned about, will suffer also. Bloating, premature wrinkles and aging of the skin.
