Dying!

I really wish I could write longer pieces. I would like not to have to cheat to get my 150 words., but short is my way. When I was in college I wrote about 400 words when they were supposed to be 500 words essays. When I was required to write 600 to 700 words mine automatically went up to around 500 words, and when I only had to do 400 words it was all I could do to get 250 words. Still, once the story is over or the poem-- whatever it maybe that we are working on there is no point in keeping on writing for no reason like I am doing now.

I'm not afraid of dying--
I just don't like the thought of waking up dead.
I hate the idea of spending my days laying over in that cemetery all alone,
Because you see I am a people person.
I hate spending my time by myself.
I love visiting with other people when they stop by my house.
Should someone stop by my grave, I know that I would want to talk to them--
Not just lay there in silence while they wondered what did me in.
Perhaps they would wonder did I do anything with my life,
And I would want to tell them my thoughts on whatever they were talking about.
I would just hate having to lie there and not join in.

Hey Johnnyyuma1...
Your poem put into words things that I sometimes think about.....
Have you thought of being a featured writer for the poetry catagory? Let me encourage you to do so....Its great!
Thanks for taking the time to coment my friend.
I think that when we really wake up will be on the judgement day, and I fully believe there will be one; I just like that saying too. I wondered though if I should have used it, but if you like it I am glad I did. You are the only one that has commented anyway.
Thanks for taking the time.
Johnny
I like the line "waking up
I like the line "waking up dead". I guess I never thought about that!
