E-mail Inbox Management

E-mail Inbox Management

Most office workers are suffering from e-mail overload and it's not even SPAM. Too many people use reply all when it is not necessary. Be careful before you hit "send" so you don't have to re-do or apologize later.

There are rules in Microsoft outlook that can help you organize your messages as they come in. There is also a new software product from ClearContext Corp. that automatically sends not critical messages into folders. It specifically handles internal e-mail overload.

Other companies who make similar products are Seriosity Inc. and Xobni Corp.

These products will help you manage your work and increase your productivity at the office.

Heavy Spam doesn't affect just office workers...

Those of us who do a lot of research online or bring in lots of information from lists are plagued by spam and heavy inbox traffic, too. I will definitely check those links out!

A couple of lists that I belonged to had those kind of people that had to comment on everything and seemed oblivious to "snipping" the e-mail so there wasn't a mile-long e-mail chain going that took up web server space. I finally had to go to a periodic summary page and scan through it to get some breathing space.

It also helps me to get on e-mail as soon as it come in, not allowing it to accumulate and become a time-consuming chore to read and delete it, often involving hundreds of e-mails.
