How much is 25% of $.01?

How long would it take a person to accumulate $10.00? Just by yourself, it takes 1000 new discussions or replies. It would take 4000 referral new discussions or replies to make $10.00.

Don't get me wrong--I am all for new and interesting ways to make money on the Internet. It's just that it seems like that webhost is the one reaping all the benefits if the site is properly monetized. Let's say you start a discussion for $.01 and the discussion brings 100 views/clicks for the site. Even if the webhost only makes $.01 for each of those clicks, he has made $1.00 to your penny.

That is why I am happy here at Xomba. We write and Nick hosts and we split the AdSense income 50-50. It is a mutually rewarding relationship.

I agree with jdubhub! I signed up for www.shvoong.com a book review, and web review web site, and at 25%, I've yet to earn the first $10. 50/50 here at xomba is a much more equitable opportunity. If you want to check out my book reviews at shvoong, just look under Wagen Load Productions. You know 50% seems like a lot to give up, but just think of what xomba is providing, such as the website, website maintenance, server fees, advertising, and legal incorporation, etc. And of course being a Business major naturally I think they deserve a profit too! 75% for a website too keep is too much of a profit I think!

That is a really nice math you have done here! This is crazy.Why do I need 1000 discussions to earn $10? It is a waste of time.

Making money on Mylot

The real way to make money there is to get people to sign up for it under your name, because you get a cut of their earnings. If you get a lot of people to sign up and they use Mylot fairly often, it can pay off. You also get paid more depending on your ranking (which is determined by how highly other users rank your comments/discussions).

For people who really like to chat and engage in discussions, it can be an OK way to make a little money; for those who really work at getting referrals, it can add up to a lot more.
