Earn money with Online Paid Surveys - My Bad Experience - Your gain - Part 1

A few years ago I left the corporate rat race and a high paying job. Once I decided my mental and physical health were more important than money, I walked out and haven't returned. However, not being independently wealthy and not one to set around doing nothing, I decided to see what I could find working from home. My first try was the Earn Money while Working from Home doing paid online surveys. Well I checked out several companies and they all seemed to be doing the same thing, they sell you a list which then you have to go sign up with all the individual companies to do their online surveys.

So I signed up with the company that had the longest list. They also agreed to update with new information.

What do you think I got? I got the list alright and as I started signing up with these companies many, many of them didn't actually pay cash, many awarded points and when you got to something like 10,000 you could buy a $10 Amazon gift card, or in many cases you were signed up to win the monthly $1000 prize.

Oh and signing up with any of these companies does not mean you are going to be picked to participate in a survey, you have to meet their criteria to be invited.

After much frustration, I decided I would do my own research and compile my own list. After reseaching the list I was provided and and doing many emails and calls to marketing and advertising companies I came up aith a list that can actually pay money. The most I made in an online survey was $150 It took about 6 weeks to complete the survey but it just required signing up once a week and commenting on a certain product. I probably put in a total of 2 hours worth of time. Now this doesn't always happen.

At one point I was going to sell my experience, tried to on ebay and only sold one copy. So I have decided to give you my research. I will post peridoically a few of the websites I registered with and you can sign up if you like.

Good luck with your online survey experience!!

Try these, I have added some comments after each site:

When you're asked to participate in an online focus group, you'll typically be paid anywhere from $30.00 to $50.00.

Pays cash

Online surveys give away everything from free gifts to $250 and everything in between. Focus group projects pay a minimum of $50 for an hour of your time.

I will post more as time goes on.

Thank you

You are right on. Money does not make you happy but without it you can increase your misery. I am now working at home as an independent contractor for a diabetes product supply firm. I make the money I need to pay my bills and basically maintain a decent lifestyle. I am making less than half of what I was at my previous job, but you know what, I am happier than I was at the high pressure high paying job.

online surveys are usually scam

Yes the online surveys and ad posting jobs are usually scam. they earn by getting your joining fees and then usually disappear after they have earned enough money.

Thanks,

Goodness what companies were you workinking with. I have tried the survey circuit myself, thankfully I didn't run into any scams, and was paid right away. And I didn't have to pay a fee or deal with any point system. Its just so much junk on the internet its pitiful. The one thing I dislike about surveys is filling up my email account contantly everyday with notices for surveys.

I rather keep writing everyday and working my data processing gig that's it for me. I resist any temptations to try out something promising to make you money--to me thats a big sign that it is false. I just stick with what works, and keep it simple.

Keep it simple

I agree with you. When I first started out doing the online survey thing, about 4 years ago, almost all of the offers, I came across were a "pay for membership" which got you their list. I chose the one that had the largest list, figuring I would have a better chance of connecting up with real companies that would pay. I don't remember exactlyu how many names were on their list but it seems like it was 500+. My experience, with almost all of the companies listed, was they offered either points toward prizes, entrance into a monthly drawing or in a very few cases actual money. In those cases that paid, the pay was so low and it would take about 4 weeks to get paid.

I set up a yahoo mail account to keep emails out of my mainstream. In just a matter of a few days I would have 300 emails, a lot of them were just spam. I didn't have time to check out these emails to see if any of them paid. I tried at first but I was spending so much time that I figured I was working for minimum wage.

There is so much junk out there that it absolutely amazes me. If someone wants to hyelp you make money, more than likely they are helping themselves to other people's money.

The best thing to do is, as you say, stay with what works and keep it simple.
