Increase Xomba Adsense Earnings | Using Google Trends Chart Smartly
Budding and enthusiastic writers who were hitherto stopped in their tracks due to long list of prerequisites to publish articles in print media or on the web, now have Xomba to thank for. Xomba has provided an easy and convenient platform for users to come and unleash their literary skills. Writers can now come and write for satisfaction or money. Or Both!
To increase the earnings on the articles on Xomba, the Administrator of Xomba (and Nick) has offered an excellent advice on style of writing. Two styles are suggested. One style is to write news based articles that draws huge web traffic for short time. Another style is to write high value content based articles that draws moderate traffic but lasts for longer durations.
It is the former style of writing that I am going to suggest a tip upon. Most here know that Google has offered tools such as trends and hottrends to view the current trend of a topic. It shows if a search term is hot and is on uptrend on the Internet.
And most of us rush into action the moment we sight "volcanic" or "on fire" on search terms. This, in my opinion, is a gross mistake. Because by the time the article is posted you are on the waning edge of the news, unless the news is really exclusive.
So a smart tip would be to try and remain on the leading edge of news. Now how can this be done? I offer a simple solution. Instead of going gung-ho on the "volcanic" and "on fire" terms, i suggest moving onto lower listed trends. And pick up only those topics which have their graphs just starting to move up. Something like this:
(Readers please note: I used a live trend chart from Google to illustrate my point. Now the chart has passed its peak. During the time of posting, the chart had just begun its upward movement. Idea is to seek such upward trends to increase chances of drawing more traffic)
This kind of trend has a far greater chance of sustaining than a "volcanic" one that has already lived its peak and is on the down trend. Like this:
Idea is to find trends that are on uptrends and on the rise using the graphs. With a bit of luck and lots of practice i am sure you will gradually be able to identify trends that play better and longer. Its akin to Technical Analysis of stocks but on a very diluted and general level.
I hope this tip helps users to bring in more traffic to their articles written on Xomba and consequently increase the earnings from Google Adsense.

Very good advice. You raise
Very good advice. You raise a great point. People need to actually spend time writing an article--and I'm guilty of rushing into an article or two in my days on Xomba--instead of just seeing a hot term at google trends and quickly "rewriting" an already existing article to try to get some traffic. It's too late when it's "volcanic" and if someone on Xomba already wrote about the same topic they will get most of the traffic.
So to the new people here, if you want to make money, spend some more time trying to write a good article. The better quality we create, the better xomba will be.
We cannot write in a vacuum...
Much like the strategy of what I call the Bandwagon Brigade, true success comes from not witnessing what just became hot, but from doing research and keeping our eyes and ears open to what might or should be hot tomorrow, next week, or even next month.
I am somewhat divided as to the utility of Google Hot Trends for helping decide what topics are going to be worthwhile for articles. Even taking something further down the list that is on an uptick is too late because most everything on the Hot Trends list has already had many articles (read: competition) written about it. That means that John Q. Public looking for information about something already has dozens and maybe hundreds of other articles with higher search engine placement competing with your article for his attention.
That's not to say there aren't topics with staying power and many angles by which to approach your articles, but there are millions of websites in the ether and the competition is fierce, so I would rather approach my articles taking the whole year into consideration. What holidays are approaching? What special events are coming? Is there anything nationally or internationally important in the near to mid-future?
Life doesn't happen in a vacuum, so neither should our writing.
What it all comes down to, however, is writing well. If the article--no matter the topic--is poorly written, not optimized, and of little or no value to someone using the search engine, chances of it getting reads much less clicks are slim and none.
So, anyone who cobbles together a poorly worded, badly misspelled article on whatever happens to be hot at the moment is conducting an exercise in futility. We should always strive to improve our craft and educate ourselves on the best practices for writing to ensure not only our success but that of Xomba.
Appreciate .....
Thanks Chris and jdubhub for your comments.
Like said, i agree we have to raise up quality of articles to have sustained traffic.
Im my article i am merely pointing out a different strategy
for news related postings.
Thanks for your encouraging comments.

Trends
I agree that the best way to capitalize on Google trends is to find a topic before it passes its peak, but the graph you show as an example of a trend being "on the way up" looks to me to be just the opposite: the topic was getting a low-level of interest for a few hours, then the search volume spiked, then rapidly died down. That graph shows a trend that is clearly on the downswing.
I don't know if it's even possible to use Google trends to catch search trends on the upswing, because it always seems to be reporting trends that have already passed their peak "one hour ago," "six hours ago," etc.
Using Google Trends is kind of a crap shoot, it always seemed to me. Since so many other people are trying to cash in on the same trends, and since we have no control over how our posts will be ranked in the search results vis a vis all those other posts, it's sort of the luck of the draw whether a particular post we write will get lots of traffic or virtually none.
hey help
how do you post ads? were do you get your most used sources and ads if you dont mind telling me?
The chart was right before..but you are right too !
wow... you are right Idlewind. The first chart is past peak now (and even was when you saw). But when i had posted the article the chart had just started inching upwards (which is when Chris Crow too saw and was the first one to comment). This is because I used a real time trend chart from Google Trends to make a point.
So you see, if i had written and submitted an article on that 'term subject' at that time, I would have been on the leading edge of the trend. In other words my submission then would have been before the peak. Which is exactly the point I am trying to make. That if you are on the leading edge of a trend, you stand a better chance to draw web traffic.
There are numerous techniques for writing on the web. I am not saying my technique is better than the others. I have merely tried to offer and share information with others what I had found true for myself. Idea is to give more options to the writers here on Xomba. Do what works best for you.
I think, I should replace this chart with another, lest readers get confused. Thanks for pointing out, nonetheless.
Wishing everyone a truck loads of traffic on their posts,
and the best of times.

JDub's Right!
However, there's also the 'RTFA'-factor he's mentioned before (substituting whatever issue or factoid you're writing about for The F#cking 'Article' you ought to Read). If you're reporting exactly what some other news-source says, you're bordering on wasting readers' time.
If you properly research the issue as a respectable writer should (i.e. read enough to make you feel like an expert), then your report will be flavored by your expertise!

Agree
If you try writing on something that zillions of other people have written on then you will not get the traffic.
Being on the Leading Edge Will Make the DIfference.
One needs to choose a strategy while writing articles. Using the above outlined idea using the google trends chart one can possibly be on the leading edge of the news. That would make considerable difference. I have tried this out and it did work most of the times.
News related writing dies down quickly but fetches high traffic. So time is of essence more than content. Articles that are high on quality may not attract as much traffic but spans much longer. So you got to choose your strategy accordingly.
Thanks for writing in, orange.

Use Napoleon Hill's Creation Methods to Grow New Ideas
In Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich, he talks about the two ways everything is created: synthetic creation and 'original' creation.
The synthetic is simply the combination of two- or more already-created things/ideas. The 'original' (I don't remember what he called it) is the new idea inspired by that or -another idea.
Applying that here: you have 1) knowledge of uprising news and 2) knowledge in your field of expertise. Relate the news to what you know, and that's your own creation! And any ideas that come from that, 'totally original!'

Google Trends
Mythman, google trends is pretty useful tool in getting to know the pulse of the web surfing public. Its not to say that one should blindly start posting on the popular topics from the trends page. But it does give a fair idea of what subject is catching the fancy of surfers. Which can sometimes give a decent idea on what to write about.
Nice to see your view though.
