Earthquake Rocked Sichuan Province China
A huge earthquake, with the magnitude of 7.8, struck close to densely populated areas of Sichuan China on Monday.
So far, there are a reported 8,533 confirmed dead, with the death toll destined to rise as bodies are found under rubble the earthquake left behind and in surrounding areas where tremors were felt. Buildings swayed as far away as Beijing and Shanghai.
Homes, schools and factories were flattened as the powerful earthquake rocked China. All lines of communications were severed to Sichuan Province by the massive earthquake.
The earthquake lasted for 15 seconds and destroyed 90 per cent of all buildings. The deadliest earthquake to hit China since 1976.
