Looking for a meal that takes thirty minutes, start to finish; a family favorite that is inexpensive, tasty, nutritious, filling and fast. Easy Ground Beef and Shells is the answer to your search.
In a large, deep skillet with a lid
PLACE
1-3 lbs of lean ground beef
Saute and break up the meat as it cooks..
When it is browned
ADD
1 yellow bell pepper cut in bite size pieces
1 red bell pepper cut in bite size pieces
1 diced yellow sweet onion (Texas 1015 or Walla Walla or Vidalia)
3 cloves of minced fresh garlic
8 ounces sliced fresh mushrooms
1 can chopped black olives
1 can pitted black olives cut in halves
2 tbs capers
SAUTE
over medium heat while crumbling beef with spoon until beef is no longer pink in middle
ADD
2 ounces wine (Sherry, Cabernet, Burgundy, Chianti) or what ever you have on hand and simmer 2-3 minutes stirring frequently
SERVE
over sea shell shaped buttered pasta. Add a salad and garlic toast. Pass grated Parmesan cheese as a garnish.
NOTE
If you have leftovers, pour a jar of prepared spaghetti sauce (I like Five Brothers or Bertoli's Fresh Tomato and Basil but there are many brands and varieties) over it and it makes a great quick meal for tomorrow. Pour the sauce over it tonight and let it sit in the fridge overnight to marry the flavors. Store the pasta separately or prepare fresh pasta when you serve the meat and sauce.
You may also prepare this with ground chicken or bison...

Great recipe, although I am a little lazy and will probably use frozen veggies instead.

It sounds like it would be extra good with ground chicken - might give that a try. +1
