Happy Saint Patrick’s Day and here is our second craft project idea for this occasion. Described below is an easy craft project that you can display all year. Let us start with some good rules to go by. First, keep it simple. What we are about to do, does not require a lot of thinking or effort. Second, do not let it get expensive; there is no need to dig deep into the wallet. Third, if you are of the age that requires parental consent or supervision, get your parents involved. Keep it simple, easy and safe.

Most material needed for this project is from the floral arrangement area of your craft supply store. First, metal messed pot, a small bag fake lucky Irish coins for that pot of gold touch. Next, two plastic Leprechauns, one shamrock and one Pot of Gold stickpins. A string of artificial shamrock vine, foam to fit into the pot and some newspaper. The last item is thin foam shamrock stickers.

The pot we selected had a messed bottom, so we placed the lucky Irish coins inside to cover it up. We will now wedge in the foam, which will lock in the coins; you should have about a half to one inch of space at the top of the pot. If there is space between the coins and foam, use balled up newspaper to fill it in. This will keep the coins from rattling around.

Now roll up the shamrock vine around the inside edges of the pot, we looped some thin wire to hold it down in the foam. Next cut down all of the stickpins so they will fit just below the edges of the pot, into the foam. Place the pot of gold stickpin in the middle as a centerpiece. Position the one Shamrock stickpin directly behind the pot of gold. Now position the two Leprechaun stickpins on either side of the pot of gold. You may have to adjust to make everything fit. This should not be hard since the stickpins are going into the foam.

You can stop here or decorate the pot with stick on shamrocks like we did. Nothing to it and it should take less then fifteen minutes to complete.
