Easy Techniques that Generate Ebook Profits

Ebooks are incredibly popular and have become an important source of revenue for writers. They are quite easy to write, once you understand the format and their production cost is very little or nothing. If you are a writer, you should investigate writing ebooks. After writing the ebook and setting up the sales page, you can generate profits for years. Of course you need to promote it. But, if you are skilled at SEO techniques and have a good affiliate program, the search engines along with your affiliates will bring you plenty of traffic. Here are some easy techniques that generate ebook profits:

Create interesting ebooks that offer valuable information related to your target market. Be specific, targeted titles sell much better than general topics. For example, an ebook entitled, How To Cook, might generate 1 sale per month. But a targeted ebook called, How to Prepare Healthy Easy 10 Minute Meals, might get 20 sales per month.

Build and promote your own domain. Invest in your own website to promote your Ebook. Having your own domain for your ebook will pay you big dividends in the future. By using good SEO tactics and keyword optimization you can maximize traffic with the least amount of effort on your part.

It is important to advertise your ebook when it is first launched. Promote your sales page in forums by including a link in your signature file. I usually recommend registering with 4 or 5 forums and entering 8 posts a day on each one. This will bring you plenty of traffic.

Article marketing is also a very effective technique to promote your ebook. Include a link in your resource box that directs people to your ebook. This technique has the added benefit of positioning you as an expert in the field.

Look for advertisers that can help you promote your ebooks and your website. Give commissions to advertisers that will promote your ebooks and your website. The more people helping you to endorse your ebook, the more units you will sell.

Build your marketing tactics. Send promotional emails and newsletters to your list together with free downloadable reports that include links to your own ebook. Give discounts to regular customers and offer a ebook sale at least twice a year to promote customer loyalty. Good marketing tactics help improve your ebook income.

Get feedback from your readers. This will help locate your strong points and let you know where you need to make improvements. This can be a tremendous help in improving your next ebook.

.... adrianne, go online and do a search on e-book cover generators. You can get many of them for free, of shareware, or free try-out before you have to pay for them.

These will help you create an e-book cover.

I have been able to create my own e-books covers using my own photography, etc. -- but I plan to do more with cover generators soon.

You can find one of my OWN killer (I hope) e-book covers here:

.... www.lulu.com is a print-on-demand publishing outfit where you can publish everything from e-books, to paper and ink books, to CDs and even video.

You just upload your stuff there for free -- they also have stock covers you can use, or you can upload your own book covers.

I have a storefront on lulu with some e-books there -- you set your price and sell them, and lulu takes a cut for everyone you sell -- it's a pretty good deal, though, because you don't have to have your own website, and it makes it very easy to quickly upload an e-book, get a cover and start selling them right away.

The real key, though, is to drive a lot of traffic to you store at lulu, which I shamelessly sometimes do with plugs like the following:

... and lulu is by far not the only outfit where you can do this. I forget some of the other names now ... but, anyway, I get a real kick out of selling e-books -- I've been experimenting with different prices. I have most of mine set at .99 cents at lulu -- and my cut is .79 cents after lulu fees -- but if you sell a couple of thousand a month -- well, that's good cash -- and with e-books you have almost no overhead, like printing, mailing, etc. -- that 70 cents is all profit (except for taxes, of course).

I'll have a lot more book up there soon -- I'm going to use the cheap ones to attract people to the store, and have a few others that are higher priced as well -- the low priced ones attract the customer to the store, and you hope they buy a pricier one while they are there ---
