Economic Crisis: Then and Now
Economic Crisis: Then and Now
This article by Daniel Gross of Newsweek comparing today's economic crisis to the 1930's is interesting and brings up valid points and criticisms, although it reads more like an Obama campaign ad. (Especially with the Obama campaign ad banner in the middle of the article! I sure wish we had better candidates to choose from.)
What struck me were the photos at the top showing people lining up to make witdrawals at the United States National Bank in Los Angeles in 1931 and an almost identical photo taken last week of customers lining up to withdraw savings from IndyMac.
I guess history does always repeat itself.
