Ego of Protection | Separation

Ego of Protection | Separation

Most people associate the Ego with pride, but the Ego is much more than pride. The Ego is your conscious mind, the thoughts that control your energy flow, whether the flow is inward or outward. The perceptions of yesterdays’ hurts are stored in your memory banks; the Ego uses these to guide you in making choices when perceiving situations today. The way the Ego protects us from hurt though, also blocks us from joy.

The Ego’s goal is to separate: To separate you from connecting with people, because the Ego sees people as threats. The Ego also separates your connection with the Spirit, because the Spirit is love and the Ego believes love causes pain. In the eyes of the Ego, when you open yourself up to give, you also open yourself up to receive, on the conscious plane (the Ego) this leads to hurt. The Ego believes it knows best and will do whatever it thinks is necessary to keep you from feeling or being hurt. Sneaky little things that we really don’t even notice happening until it is too late, the negative energy of Over Protective Ego has blocked the positive energy of the Spirit. Ego will repeat hurtful comments made to you by others until you start believing them, this way the Ego believes they will no longer hurt the next time you hear them. However, the Spirit does not leave us, it is still with us, we just cannot hear it or feel it because the Ego is blocking it. When the Ego starts to infiltrate the Spirit, the unconscious part of us, the Spirit fights back by trying to reach out and bring in the positive energies, love being the most powerful. This causes an inner battle between the Spirit and the Ego. When this battle begins we start to feel confused, lost, and emotional pain as the Ego pounds away at the Spirit with reminders of hurtful statements. This can manifest itself externally by creating chaos in our lives, troubled relationships, worry, fear, stress at work and financial problems.

We have all heard about “building walls”, barricading our hearts so they cannot get hurt or broken, well, the Ego does that. The Ego is the contractor who constructs those walls and when left unchecked, those walls become solid, bombproof protection of energy flow.

These walls then create a bottleneck of energy, both positive and negative, inside of us, trying to penetrate the walls. This is when we are feeling anxious, we start to feel out of balance and like we are going to explode, internally combust with rage, confusion, desperation. All of these energies are rolling around inside, pinging off the walls around our heart, mixing with each other, bouncing off each other, creating the feeling of chaos. When this happens, the Ego has successfully weakened our foundation, our energy field of connection with the Spirit (1st Chakra) and blocked our heart (4th Chakra) from receiving as well as giving love of Spirit. The Ego separation is now complete.

The journey of balance

Thank you Mr. Wdzzz for the compliments, the vote and for reading this. Your comments are very much on the mark. On my blog, I am writing a series of the ego and spirit battles. As they continue, the idea of "which side we fortify" is expanded upon as well as how to know which side is being fortified. MJ - Sending happy thoughts and Smiles! Excellent Article- Ego of Protection | Seperation

I love how you define and examine the inner conflict of our interior life; the battle of the mind. It's almost like people and situations gives us ammonition and the war is over which side we fortify with that ammunition, the Ego or the Spirit. The Spirit takes it and makes useful things out of it, like plow shears,to nurture the garden of others, and the Ego builds fortiffications to seperate and destroy others, or something like that. Thanks for writting this article, you write very well. I think this article will help many into the insights of the inner conflict we all go through.
