Eight Belles Euthanized After A freak Accident!

Eight Belles, the first to run during the Kentucky Derby on 1999 suffered was euthanized after collapsing during the Kentucky Derby. The horse suddenly collapse after finishing second in the 134th running of the Run for the Roses.

Eight Belles suddenly went down on her front knees just after crossing the finish line behind winner Big Brown. The horse had suffered two compound fractured ankles which is considered a freak injury and somewhat hard to explain.
It was really an awful site since the horse tried to stand up but to no avail. Shortly after the incident, Eight Belles was euthanized.
