Election Time
posted October 29, 2006 - 5:50pmTruly, I hate politics. It bores me to no end although I realize it is important and I really should pay a little attention to it so that I can make an educated decision as to who to vote for.
But here is my gripe: In a world of
electronic technology and even more technological advancements, why must I receive multiple press ads in my mailbox daily up until election time? I mean, the same person's ad will show up two to three times in the same week, clogging my mailbox like cholesterol in the arteries of a bad dieter. Dammit, I do not need to see the same ad over and over again. It's overkill! And that better be recycled paper your using because otherwise, NO ONE GETS MY VOTE FOR KILLING SO MANY TREES!
And stop saying the same old crap! Tell me something new or that I don't already know. Don't point out what's wrong and say you're going to "fix it"! Tell me HOW you're going to fix it so I can decide if I agree with your strategy. Don't just tell me what you have done before, So what? Tell me what you can do now and how you will do it? What is your plan? Is your plan feasable? If you successfully "fix" one problem, will it cause another? That's the sort of stuff I want to know. And please, put it in an electronic ad (TV, Radio, Internet) and leave the trees alone. Don't tear up my environment for your campaign! I'm not a big tree hugger or anything, I just hate to see waste. And let's face it, those ads are wasteful! They end up in the trash as soon as I pull them out of the mailbox. Here's a good campaign slogan...."Hey voters, once you read my ads, recycle them please"! Heck, put that slogan on your ad. At least it would show me you cared about something else besides yourselves.
