Americans don’t always get British humour - they can’t even spell it… Notwithstanding, Eminem got it and bore the brunt - so to speak!

It is wrong to assume that Eminem is one of the Americans who doesn’t dig British humour, just because he stormed out of the MTV Movie Awards because of some. Let’s face it (as Eminem did) Eminem was in the wrong place at the wrong time for this particular prank. He didn’t expect to feel the full front (or back) of the humour of Sacha Baron Cohen. However, he was in the wrong place at the wrong time and so the Comedy was even funnier than it might have been!

What Happened?

Sacha Baron Cohen – most famous stateside for his Road Trip Movie of America in his character of Borat (the funniest film ever made) – was at the MTV Movie Awards to present Zac Efron with an award for High School Musical. Cohen did this in the character of Bruno, his gay Austrian fashionista. Bruno’s costume was that of an angel, resplendent with huge feathered wings, white boots and little else. The little else consisted of a silver thong.

Bruno, thus attired, was suspended by a wire and descended from roof to celebrity rich audience as if in flight (well sort of) to announce and present the award. Things did not (or did – there is some debate about this) go to plan as the thong was skewed and seemed to cause Bruno some discomfort. Accordingly, as he was lowered (much to the delight of most of the audience) he was reported to say:

“Arrh jeeese! My googlesack! A wire is trapped round my googlesack!”

Then Bruno landed on Eminem’s lap and footage shows the Rapper’s face just inches away from the aforementioned googlesack and the bare buttocks of Bruno. Eminem didn’t laugh but reacted much the same way as tennis star John McEnroe but with additional expletives:

“Are you ****ing serious? Get the mother****er off me!” insisted Eminem to his readily available bouncer.

Not one to quit while he’s ahead (that’s why we love Sacha) Bruno mocked the rapper as Eminem stormed out with the question:

“Is the real Slim Shady about to stand up?"

NB Cynics say the entire incident was staged to promote Eminem's new album Relapse and Cohen's new "mockumentary" Bruno. However, according to our eyewitness (WILMA PROOPS) "the whole thing was for real!"
