The economy of Kazakhstan became more stable and it caused the increase of the demand for labor power at the labor market. Beginning from the year of 2000 Kazakhstan has seen the stable growth of the employment of the population.
The development of the small and middle-sized business caused the increase of the share of people working at private enterprises.
The people in Kazakhstan became more educated and the share of the employed people with higher and special professional education is higher than the employment of the people who do not have a higher or special professional education.
People are employed in different sectors of economy such as education, transport, communication, health care, social services and industry. The share of employed in these spheres increased from year to year, whereas the number of the employed in such spheres as forestry, fishery and agriculture decreased.
The structure of the employment saw the growth of the number of hired workers for the last years. The majority of hired workers are employed in large and middle-sized enterprises.
The increase of demand for qualified workers at the labor market, the growth of the level of professional requirements caused the active movement of labor power and the formation of unoccupied vacancies at enterprises and organizations.
The share of the population working independently is considerable in the total number of the employed in economy. The structure and scales of this category of people change annually.
In spite of the positive changes the scale of part time employment is large; this is one of the open forms of inefficient employment.
One of the factors influencing the conjuncture of the labor market is unemployment. The dynamics of its level is characterized by its annual decrease.
The considerable differentiation of the unemployed is observed in its sex-age structure. The problem of the adaptation of young people at the labor market acquires a particular sharpness. In spite of the decrease of the total number of the unemployed the share of young people (15- 24 years old) among them remains considerable.
The persons with higher and secondary professional education have the level of the unemployment at the diapason from 4 to 8 percent. A relatively high unemployment is characteristic of persons who finished the secondary school and are students of higher educational institutions. The unemployed with general secondary and with secondary special education prevail among urban population, whereas among rural population with general secondary education.
There a number of people in Kazakhstan who is looking for a job and fail to find it. They say that one of the main reasons of the unemployment is the absence of appropriate or any job.
