Encountering Holmans on the American River Bike Trail

The Jedediah Smith Memorial Trail, more commonly known as the American River Bike Trail, has been a destination and pathway for millions since the early 1800’s. Once a unmarked area of exploration for Jedediah Smith, it has now become a 32 miles stretch of paved path used by cyclists, joggers, and walkers as a commute route and primary recreation destination.  There are few people familiar with the Sacramento area that have never traversed the path on either foot or bicycle. For some, it has been a life-long joy shared with generations. One such lover of the trail is Sandra Holman who recently sponsored a portion of the path with her husband Michael Holman. They use the trail to keep fit as well as to entertain grandchildren with the joys of nature
