Every Other Nightmare

In every other nightmare I see your angry face
You slap me down and put me in my place
You pull my hair and put me down
In every other nightmare, that's where you'll be found
You tell me that you're sorry and this will be the last
I say that I forgive you and put it in the past
When you hold me close and sweetly say my name
To believe is what I want, but I know you're still the same
The faded handprints and covered bruises
In this situation everyone loses
There are few that say the fault it my own
But they are there and make me feel alone
Then the day came when I made the dare
