It takes no genius to point out that modern man, who drives more than walks, hunts and gathers at the grocery store and has a little more than winter warmth in his belly's blubber, is not representative of our species' physical prime.

But it's definitely more interesting to repeat after reading anthropoligist Peter McAllister latest book, "Manthropology: The Science of the Inadequate Modern Male."

Through scientific research, McAllister points out that our supposed "world records" set by Olympians of latter day would pale in comparison to the strength of our foremothers and the speed of our true hunting-and-gathering forefathers.
