The ex-Fruitand Park Florida New Life Prysbyterian Church Prevails

So many corporate executives have made glaring mistakes and errors in judgement recently that it should surprise no one that the Central Florida Presbyterian Church heirrarchy could and did do the same. I am referring to the treatment accorded the Fruitland Park Presbyterian Church which drove hundreds of long-time members and working supporters away from the church. A person would be corrcet in assuming that this consequence could be predicted. The resulting effects upon the New Life Church.  seem to be disastrous.

This is where the study of executive judgement becomes a worthwhile exercise. Did the heirarchy of the Presbytery not understand the ultimate results of their high-handed treatment of the New Life members and their pastoral staff?

One can only wonder. Since the antics of the executive management of the Central Florida Presbyterian Church was laid out for all to see, approximately 500 members have formed another church taking with them two of their pastors and some significantly dedicated members.

However, this is an example of what troubles American life today. People cannot talk and resolve their differences in a conciliatory manner. The result is a non-solution and more pain. Perhaps this issue runs a bit deeper. Perhaps it is the dominant power wanting what it wants and being in no mood to yeild what it doesn't believe it has to yeild. No person, no organization,  no government, wants to be treated as if they have no options and the power is the power.....period.

The New Life story will likely have a good ending for the members who leave for the newly formed church, but what can be said for the heirarchy? What can be said for what they have done.
