Borderlands is one of the most anticipated games of the year for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.  IGN gives Borderland a great rating so it looks like we are in for a treat.  They compare it to the classic PC game Diablo in that a major part of the game is hunting for loot.  If you were looking for another Fallout style game then this probably isn't it but it sounds like there are a huge amount of weapons to discover, different skill trees to explore and some interesting options for multiplayer.  After reading the review I'm definitely looking forward to playing this one.  Check out the IGN Borderlands review through the link below for more information.
