I recently logged in to Xomba to find that I had recieved a Private message from a fellow Xomba member. This message is one that I have seen before. It is a fraudulant message and may be used to scam you.

The message basicly asked me to help an Africa citizen to invest money that they had been left in a will. Usually this message involves a close relative like a father or mother, to play off of your emotions. The message then goes on to ask you to respond, for the account information so that you may help this person. As a thank you you will, supposedly, receive a percentage of this money.

If you respond you will undoubtably receive some account number and some steps to follow. One of these steps will include you giving your bank account number so that the person can give you your percentage.

I urge all xomba members to delete any e-mails, or private messages that you receive to this affect. If you do not heed my warning, you may find your self a victum of fraud, robbery and/or an array of many other crimes. I also ask that the Xomba administrators delete the account of and Xomba member attempting to send these type of messages.

For clarification I have posted the message that I received below, and so as not to incrimenate a possible victom I have removed the name of the Xomba member who sent the message (I will let the admin know the members name):

I got one too

Just got home from trip and found her spam in my private messages as well. I get about 4 of these from various people or maybe the same one using various names per day in my emails. All saying they want to make me rich blah blah blah. Yeah Right! Guess some people fall it though. I sent mine to Guru.

In noelie's absence, you can send any loose change (but not loose screws) to me.
