Fall 2008 Fashion Trends: Fall Florals
posted February 16, 2008 - 12:10pmMercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York featuring fall 2008 collections has come to an end and now we can wrap up the top runway trends from the top fashion designers. Among the top fashion trends from the New York runways for fall is fall florals. The floral trends we saw for Spring 2008 have rolled over into fall with a smooth transition to fall colors.
For fall, look for dresses in florals that are inspired by fall colors or have deeper and darker tones than the bright spring florals we saw on the spring 08 runways. Among my favorites on the fall 08 runway collections was a gorgeous purple and olive/lime floral dress with a purple leather belt cinching the waist by Michael Kors. I also loved breakthrough designer, Thakoon with his short sleeved white dress with pink and olive green florals. The black high heel shoes that he paired with this look were incredible. Diane von Furstenberg showed a lovely soft white dress with blue florals and Anna Sui also showed fall florals in her looks.
I love this trend for spring in bright modern florals and you can easily carry it over into fall with more toned down fall appropriate colors. Purples, olives, blues, reds or other fall like tones are perfect.
