Fall 2008 Fashion Trends: Jewel Tones
posted February 17, 2008 - 11:47amThe fall 2008 collections from New York Fashion Week are finished walking down the catwalks so now we can look at all of the top fashion trends from the runway for fall. Among the trends from top fashion designers is the trend of the gemstone and jewel colors.
Many of the designs we have seen from the top fashion designers are red carpet worthy and here are some of my favorite looks. Badgley Mischka showed a fabulous flowing emerald green dress. Costello Tagliapietra showed a glamorous sapphire blue dress that looks super soft and comfortable in what I believe was satin. Tommy Hilfiger had sent a model strutting a ruby red long dress with bow detail at the neck down the runway. Donna Karan showed a red carpet worthy rich rust color dress with beautiful neckline detail. And last but certainly not least, I loved Proenza Schouler. The designer showed a sweet, cute yet rich looking short purple dress with exquisite detail and paired with mustard color tights.
Look for these jewel and gemstone inspired colors in your fall wardrobe, especially in evening attire. These colors are the perfect way to look luxurious and glamorous for any special event. And adding these colors to your every day wardrobe is a great look for fall as well. You can’t go wrong with natures beauty when it comes to color.
