Family Friendly Vacation Harvard Museum of Natural History

Kids and families will enjoy the attractions and activities at the Harvard Museum of Natural History in Boston, Massachusetts.

Exhibits are dedicated to educating and inspiring young people. Biology, geology, paleontology, archeology and climate and weather are just some of the fields of study embodied in the exhibits.

The museum features a hall of mammals includes amazing species from around the world to illustrate the evolution of mammals and features some extinct species. South American animals, African animals and Indo-Asian Birds and Animals house exhibits on global animal species. Other animal exhibits include displays about horned animals, birds and fish.

Several exhibits highlight dinosaurs and other artifacts from Paleolithic times. These giant fossils give insight into the past inhabitants of our planet. Bug lovers will enjoy the arthropod exhibit and the climate and minerals displays are not to be missed.

The museum features ongoing events for kids and families. Middle school age children can take part in special programs held each Sunday. Nature Story times are held midday on Saturday and Sundays for children six and under. Classes, clubs and vacation programs offer activities throughout the year. The museum also hosts birthday parties for children.
