A Fantastic Resource for Job Seekers
posted April 11, 2009 - 1:36amThere is a fantastic online resource produced by the US government that provides job seekers with valuable and pertinent information for their job search. The http://www.careervoyages.gov site provides a detailed description of the job titles in popular industries, a description of the job duties, and even the educational requirements for your dream job. It gives information for people looking to change industries, to students, even to elementary age students. Beyond simply showing job descriptions the site provides a multimedia interactive experience where you can watch videos of various job professions, and click through links to see what types of education you will want to have, what the expected projection increases or decreases for that job field are, and the salary expectations for people with the job titles.
The site also links to pertinent information for those seeking subsidized Cobra coverage and other new programs that are part of the economic recovery act of 2009. If you are currently seeking there are links to unemployment insurance, to job banks, job searching resources by state, and news that relates to job seekers.
I would strongly recommend looking at the site and exploring the options and seeing the requirements of various jobs whether you are currently looking or still happily employed. You never know when you might want to switch from one career to another.
If you are a job seeker I wish you the very best luck finding a stable employer with good benefits and a great work environment! I hope this blog entry will help you on your way!
