Fast food restaurants are making a killing during this recession-that-should-not-be-named. Here's the problem. Do we shell out big bucks (big!) for food at the grocery store, or, do we roll up to the little window and place our mc-order for a 99 cent something?
This will be the first time in history when we get fatter because we don't have enough money for food. What???
The fast food chains' profits are in the billions by sheer quantity sales. You don't even see as many commercials for them anymore on television because it's not necessary. They know we will come...sometimes we don't have a choice.
If they were super-smart, they would start building their chain restaurants right across the street from gas stations. So then after we scrounge up enough money to get enough gas to get to work that week, we can pull forward please...

Fast Food and Gas
Great combination - the two things you cannot do without. Why not get them from the same place. Yeah, I know what you mean. I find myself eating more fast food because it is cheaper. When you compare 99 cents to $5 for lunch then 99 cents will win everytime.
It's hard to avoid fast food
It's hard to avoid fast food purchases when the budget starts to run dry, especially with hungry kids! I do my best to avoid the places but I'll let us indulge once in awhile. This morning when I drove past a McDonalds on my way to work, the drive thru line was backed up in to the street!
