There's an old saying, "you get what you pay for."
So, I'm glad someone made the point about the wonders of fast food.
Imagine this, "oh, hi, have you met my little Johnny? Yes, he is a big boy. Well, he is big for his size, but, its only baby fat. I'm sure he'll out grow it.
Stop up here at McDonald's. (at the drive-up window):
"Nine 99c specials please, four strawberry milk shakes, and 4 orders of fries, and super-size them please.
Johnny's been a good boy this week, and, I promised him he could have his favorite meal, and, I can use the money I'm saving to buy more gas. That way I can drive him to school, and buy him a new couch to sit on.
He loves sitting on the couch and playing videos.
Oh, he'll be 12 in a month, and he's starting to, finally, fill out............
Well, you, can see where this is going. And, the above is what fast food can do for your kid. But, its just not fast food, its video games, television, computers, etc.----------
It's the loss of real experiences -- like walking, playing (outside with other real people), enjoying physical activity.
Well, there's my two cents....
And, me, I'm headed for Carl's Jr............

Cooking
... you spare more if you take time to cook something: cooking is a good family activity! And it is healthy!
I am for the slow food and McDonald's/BigBurger&company are not for my children.
Eat at Carl's Jr. -- No Way - it was a joke...
Cooking great food is a hobby for me. I cook a lot, and will try any food, at, least once.
Right now, I'm making six gallons of soup, vegetable, with all fresh ingredients! Six Gallons?? YES! I share it with my neighbors. And, in turn, they share their home cooking with me.
My neighbors who are in their 30s share better food with me than those in their 50s. The younger generation who live near me are much more tuned to healthy food. (maybe not in your area, but, mine are.)
It takes me four hours to go shopping for $200 worth of groceries. Why? I look at everything -- especially on packaged products --- I read every content label.
I buy lots of organic products.
Most people, do not, unfortunately, and, by not paying attention to the quality of foods given children, and adults, all that is accomplished is the act of passing bad health onto others...

Soup is better than the 99 cent special!
Your 6 gallons of soup is much better than the 99 cent something. I also ready labels and prefer to go to Trader Joe's for food than anywhere else. Unfortunately, the local farmer's market is starting to really raise their prices which brings us back to the 99 cent something!
