FDA Looking into Lasik Eye Surgery Complaints
posted November 13, 2008 - 3:06amLasik Eye Surgery is often a controversial subject for the reason that it is never the same exact operation twice. Often, the surgery works to improve people's vision and the aberrations that may be in their eyes, threatening perfect vision.
But sometimes, the procedure doesn't work without a hitch. With the technological advances that have been occurring and with new technology like Wavefront Lasik Surgery, there is definitely movement toward a more accurate and possibly more effective type of lasik surgery procedure.
Wavefront is more accurate because it uses an advanced computer system to map the exact picture of the eye. It models each individual eye and then creates a set that shows where the problems in each eye lies. Then it helps the surgeon locate where the problem is and fix it. This makes vision better.
The FDA is looking into recent lasik complaints, which is a good thing, because it will hopefully make the surgery more safe and perhaps more effective.
