Super-villain and scientist Lex Luthor, Superman’s relentless adversary, has married eight times. His present wife is Contessa Erica Alexandra Del Portenza, who is as greedy as he is. They share a dysfunctional marriage that stays in battle mode as each spouse clamors for control of LexCorp. In retaliation for her reprehensible deeds against him, Mr. Luthor destroys the Contessa’s mansion with missiles. The vindictive scientist first appeared in the April issue of Action Comics (#23) in 1940 and has been a kryptonite thorn in Superman’s side ever since.
