Finding The Right Acne Treatment

Acne can be a frustrating condition and the scaring can be devastating, following you through the rest of your life. You can reduce acne scaring with the right acne treatment. Finding acne products that will actually work can be very frustrating.

The most common acne is vlugaris acne. Many don’t realize that acne is actually considered an inflammatory disease of the skin. It is the result of changes that occur to the hair follicle and sebaceous gland of the skin.

The secretion of excessive oil combined with the sloughing of dead skin cells, which is a natural occurrence, all, lead to hair follicles becoming blocked. The next thing we know, we get up in the morning, greeted by a nice big zit. Using an acne treatment can reduce symptoms.

Comedone, pustules, cysts, and papules are the most common acne lesions. All of these types will cause redness, inflammation, and swelling, and if you decide to squeeze them, you could land up with a scar. Instead, apply the appropriate acne treatment.

Teen males have a very high level of testosterone, a male hormone, in their bodies, which is one of the main reasons that acne is so pronounced in teen males. This acne usually disappears once the late teens, early twenties arrive and their hormones balance out.

It can however, resurface at any point during their life. If you suffer from acne, you are not alone – more than 80% of the population, both male and female, suffer from acne some time during their life.

Fluctuating hormones in both male and female will be the number one cause for an outbreak during adulthood. These hormone fluctuations can be caused by something as significant as pregnancy or as insignificant as day-to-day stress.

If you rub your skin that can be enough of an irritant to result in an outbreak, and friction such as that created by a bicycle helmet can also cause breakouts. Pollutants in the air, toxins, and other irritants can also cause acne. These things are certainly out of your direct control, however ensuring you partake in a daily cleaning program and an acne treatment will reduce your outbreaks.

Acne does not discriminate – it will attack rich or poor, male or female, young or old, professors or janitors, however it is most common in teenagers. By the late 20’s acne should almost be a thing of the past, until you reach your late 50’s. All will have to resort to an acne treatment sometime during their life.

Acne can scar so it is important to use an acne treatment both to prevent outbreaks and to treat outbreaks. You can have healthy skin at any age with just a little bit of help from one of the many acne treatments on the market.
