First Georgia Community Bank, Jackson, GA - FDIC Failed Bank

The newest in the FDIC Bank seizures list is the First Georgia Community Bank, Jackson, GA. It is the 23rd bank to be seized in the year 2008, foreclosures and mortgage delinquencies being the reasons. United Bank will be buying close to $60.6 million of its assets, while the FDIC will retain the rest of the assets for disposition later.
