Five Reasons Why I am not mad after money
posted October 16, 2006 - 1:33am1] Most of the people who are mad after money flaunt it at the slightest pretext when they get it. They loose humbleness, and value relationships in terms of money. Originality is lost, and calculations reign supreme. I don’t want to be mad like them.
2] Possessing huge riches
builds up complex in my dear friends who may start avoiding me. Missing the loved ones can be so cruel. Finding new friends who can match your taste can be so difficult.
3] Being mad after money leads to lust which can be dangerous. Due to this, growth of human qualities is stunted. Peace of mind is destroyed. Man behaves like an animal, a machine.
4] If I am mad after money, working at hectic pace must become top priority. Energies need to be channelised in so many directions. Question of investing time to watch the innocence of little child does not arise. Beauty of nature will be meaningless. The deaf ears can’t appreciate sound of rains.
5] Persons focusing on money generally are detached from society. They equate power with amassing wealth. Empowering fellow brethren for creating a good society is neglected. Sensitivity to the sufferings of poor is not on their agenda.
If 90% of people are mad after money, 10% have other priorities which give them deep satisfaction. I want to remain in this category to make their voice strong. After all, materialism has to be fought by identifying people with a difference.
