Fixing the Nation: Part III

Still more ideas come to mind on how to fix the country.

  • Fix maximum property taxes nationwide.
  • Amend the laws so that retired people or people with children in parochial school don’t have to pay school taxes since they have no kids in the public schools.
  • Being as the U.S. pays 23% of the entire upkeep and operational money for the U.N., we should begin paying the same average amount which the other nations contribute. A good case could even be made for us to withdraw from the U.N altogether.
  • Eliminate the ridiculous and totally useless semi annual “spring ahead, fall back” time change.
  • Eliminate the education, Labor, and Commerce departments as cabinet level federal agencies.
  • Contract out the function of the U.S. Postal Service.
  • Contract out all maintenance for the federal and state governments.
  • Auction off all excess properties of the federal government which ranges from everything from soda crackers to cheese to WWII military uniforms, to automobiles and everything else imaginable including real estate such as abandoned military bases which are now overgrown wastelands inhabited by coyotes and tumbleweeds.

No doubt I will think of more but these are high on my hit parade of things to do if I were running things.
