"You are never ever going to settle with one" and "You are going to with only one forever". Both these statements even though opposite extremes of each other are equally scary. And here we are talking constantly about stability and continuity, then why are we scared of these words forever and never ever.

Maybe it is the finality of the statement. Good or Bad, it is final and that is why we are scared, we want to have an escape route, to get out of that finality, OMG what if? Maybe we need to keep things fluid to cater for an error of judgment.

Can you imagine how stupid it can get and if it does? Okay if I were to say that you will never ever get to use the eraser or whitener fluid or press that delete button again. Will you panic? Of course you would. Especially if you are into that business of writing. It is not because you can not write or type without a mistake , but it is the finality of taking away that option of making a mistake that makes you jittery. If you had the option you would merrily spend years without making a mistake, but if you didn't, you can't even begin to think about how you would survive.

What if someone told you that will never ever have happiness again or that you will be sad forever? What will you do? Take a cruise on the costliest liner on credit and jump into the sea en route or will you accept it as God's will and continue living a life which would never get any better.

On the other hand if someone was to say that word "maybe" or say it diplomatically that "there is a possibility" of you ..... everyone will live on, take their chances and believe in something which indeed has a name. That name is HOPE. A man will live, fight, commit, take chances, sacrifice himself, if he feels that there is a chance. If he has a hope he will try because he can or he just might but when he knows he can never ever or maybe he can't forever, he will give up.

Therefore, never ever imply or use the words never ever or forever, Give a man an escape route and he will achieve everything he set out to. But if you do, he will give up much sooner than any pessimist in the world.

Hope, many lives are living just on hope, "forever and never ever" take that hope away. Use these words with discretion.
