Former NY Giant Brad Van Pelt Dead of a Heart Attack

Pro Bowl linebacker Brad Van Pelt has died at the age of 57, it has been reported. The Michigan native who played college ball at Michigan State apparently had a heart attack while in Owosso, his hometown.

Brad Van Pelt was a linebacker in the NFL from 1973 to 1986. The prime of his career was the 11 seasons he spent with the New York Giants, where he was part of a fearsome group of linebackers including Lawrence Taylor and Harry Carson.

Brad Van Pelt was picked for the Pro Bowl five times. His son, Bradlee, was a gifted quarterback in college (Colorado State).
