Fossilised skull of sea monster found
posted October 27, 2009 - 6:17pmThe gian skull of a monsterous creature has been found in very good condition. This one of the coolest things i have ever seen and really needs to be seen to be believed. If you would like to no more check it out.

Very cool
This is a very cool article you have linked to. I am very interested in marine reptiles. I work in a lab where several of my colleagues are studying marine reptiles from around this same time period as the 'Dorset monster' (the Jurassic) but in North America. They have found evidence of associations of plesiosaur types in North America and the UK but so far they have no evidence of any large pliosaur types in North America, so this is one way that the UK fossil ecosystem clearly stands out! Very very very amazing!
I love the graphic in the article that shows the tiny plesiosaur swimming away from the pliosaur. It reminds me of 'there is always a bigger fish' though in this case, I guess it is 'there is always a bigger plesiosaur' ;-)
