I love the language on these private security websites. The M-word is never mentioned, of course. One "unique and creative" solution is to destabilize countries and regimes. In the early hours of the Georgian fiasco Russian news reported captured and dead soldiers in black uniforms, one was even a black guy, and all fairly obviously from the Blackwater stable. This is another company, Greystone, based in the UK but same business just lower profile so far. Indeed, the UK has quite a few such companies, like Executive Solutions - great name!

History is only repeating itself. In the past it was expensive, as it is now, to have a professional standing army sitting around doing nothing and itching for a fight. So many kingdoms would employ mercenaries when needed. The problem with that was that they could never trust them absolutely. It just needed a higher bidder for them to switch sides. I wonder if that will ever happen today?
