In a way it is being celebrated as the birthday of the United States of America and the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. It's a holiday in USA and the weekend celebrations include picnics and patriotic parades during day time, concerts and fireworks at night, and a reason to fly the American flag.
