A Frank Lloyd Wright Home in Arcadia, a subdivision of Phoenix is up for sale. It was built in 1952 for Frank lloyd Wright's son David Wright. Frank Lloyd Wright who spent winters in Scottsdale, Arizona designed nearly 350 homes that are still standing. Seven are in the Phoenix area.

The home is a sencond-level home with a small shaded courtyard, with an almond-shaped swimming pool.

I is 2,200 square feet with mahogany window frames, and a metal roof built of concrete block.

Frank Lloyd Wright homes designed by the famous architect despite the real estate market or holding or increasing in value. The Adelman House sold for $1.2 million in Phoenix. Other Wright homes on the market list a two-bedroom lakefront cottage in Stillwater, Minn for $3.75 million, and a ranch and house in Darby, Montana for $7 million.

David Wright's home since it is in the upscale neighborhood of Camelback Mountains on 2 acres would likely be sold in the millions.

So just think if the architect who built your home suddenly became famous...

Many (if not all) of Wright's home are historic works, which means that they must be kept up well, and maintained in a manner that fits in with style in which they were designed.

Wright's designs were very distinctive and used specially made or hard to find fixtures, etc... when an owner needs to replace a fixture of whatever, he can't just buy a generic item at Home Depot.

So owning these historic homes can add a whole new level of meaning to calling a home a 'money pit'!

I visited Taliesin West years ago when my mother lived in Scottsdale, it's a remarkable place.
