Free Clicks ??????

Free Clicks ??????

I got a click today reported on my adsense account....Hurray

That is a good thing.....although.... under the amount it is 00.00.

I thought we would always get paid something for a click... guess not.

How do free clicks happen?

Whenever I read other peoples bytes and blurbs and comments, I also read the ads on their pages and try to find one that is of interest to me. I click it and learn something about the way the ads are served and about the company placing the ad. Sometimes I sign up for something or buy something, but not always. But I always feel good that I have helped Xomba and helped a fellow author. I would like to know what ads are not paying so that I can avoid them.

Godspeed

Mystery

No one can truly explain why Google does what it does...

Not Fraud Click

I am sure it was not a fraudulent click as I promise you NO ONE is helping me out. I only get about one click every couple of days...lol. Angel

No

It is all a mystery. Google recently changed their Adsense code so that you can't track clicks unless you use Adsense URL tracker. A click of zero cents can also be (rarely) a fraud click. Some people think it is smart to click on everybody's ads trying to help them out. Google is smarter than that and tracks IPs. However, I would imagine that they would never show this as a click. Just remember to never help out people on ADSENSE!!!! Or you might wake up and find that your Adsense account is gone. Only click on links that you are interested in. Highest click I ever saw was over 2 bucks. I see a bunch for 1.50. It just depends on what you write about or rather what ads you have.

I will have to defer to our

I will have to defer to our resident AdSense experts and the admins because I really don't know. Since the Google ads that appear around your Xombyte or -blurb are random, I don't know if there really is a way to track by specific link.

Almost Free Clicks lol

Thanks for the explanation. It actually makes sense. I never would have thought about clicks being that cheap. Is there a way we can track what we get paid for what ad is clicked? I have set url channels for the bytes I have written, but it does not tell me which ad was clicked.

From what I understand, the

From what I understand, the $0.00 clicks mean that sometimes the value of the click falls below one cent (like $0.003), which would show up on AdSense as a no-value click. One of the benefits of writing both kinds of Xombytes (ones that get a lot of traffic but lower-valued clicks and the others that get less traffic but higher-valued clicks) is that it balances out. My best single click so far was for $0.95, although I do get my share of no-value clicks.
