Free! Free! Free!
posted June 15, 2007 - 3:13pmWhile doing some research on the Internet earlier this week for my copywriting course, I came to understand what savvy businesspeople and entrepreneurs have known for a long time: that the word *free* is the most powerful word in the English language. Even a quick search here on Xomba shows that some of the most popular Xombytes and Xomblurbs contain the word *free* in the title.
If you've ordered products online in the past, weren't you always pleasantly surprised when the company sent something extra with your order? If you had a choice between two companies that offered product "x" for the same price, but the first one also threw in a helpful book or accessory for free, wouldn't you choose to do business with them?
My point is this. In this day and age of highly competitive business, where everyone is searching for an edge, all it often takes is offering or doing something more free-of-charge that makes all the difference between success or failure.
