Free Readjustment Counseling For Combat Veterans & Their Family Members
posted November 6, 2009 - 1:06amMany soldiers returning from combat unknowingly suffer form PTSD, aka; Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. There is help for combat veterans as well as their family members.
Some of the symptoms of PTSD include depression, unexplained fear, nightmares, hypervigillence, flashbacks to disturbing events, numbing of feelings, helpless and hopeless about the future. They may become angered easily, feel guilty that they survived and their fellow soldiers did not, and an iInability to adjust to normal circumstances. They may self-medicate with drinking or drugs.
